The Sahara Sisters are a community dance group, who’ve been based in Chippenham since 2004. We enjoy all forms and styles of bellydance, and have built up a vast repertoire of routines over the years; some taught to us by experienced bellydance instructors, and others choreographed by members of our group. Rather than having just one teacher, we have the freedom that comes with ‘running ourselves’ – a true community within the community! Class is every Tuesday from 7.30-9.30pm in Sheldon School, Chippenham.

Though our first love is bellydance, we also often branch out into other genres too – we have some particularly beautiful Bollywood, Hula and Samba dances. All rooted in intricate hip, arm and hand movements, and guaranteed to get the heart pumping, there are obvious crossovers between these styles and bellydance – which explains why we love them so much!

For us, dancing is about more than just learning the steps. We welcome people into our group regardless of experience, ability, age, and size – all you need is enthusiasm and the willingness to have a go.

Here’s what you can expect from a class with us:

Meeting lovely people and making friends.

Gentle exercise (of the mind as well as the body!)

Support to understand and perfect your dance techniquewith safe and clear instruction.

A valuable bit of ‘me’ time.

If this sounds like something you’d like to get involved with, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
